The North Fulton County Branch of AAUW is pleased to announce the award of two scholarships for the next academic year, September 2009 through May 2010. The scholarships, each in the amount of $2250.00, were awarded to the following recipients:
- Schnell Manson, 28, an MBA student at GSU-Alpharetta, who works full-time as a Financial Planner and Analyst at Ingenico, Inc. Ms. Manson has an impressive involvement in extracurricular activities, including Hands On Atlanta and I am B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L, a program that matches young girls with women who give them one-on-one mentoring. Her planned concentration is Organizational Management,
- Wendy Dziorney, 38, an MBA student at GSU-Alpharetta, who works full-time at Hewlett-Packard. A widow with two small children, Ms. Dziorney works out of her home, in the Human Resources area; her concentration is Human Resources. We were impressed with her organizational skills and her thoughtful and articulate answers to our questions.
We are very pleased with our choices; they are both worthy recipients who will contribute positively to the perception of professional, university-educated women in their work and their communities. Funding for both scholarships was earned through member participation in last year’s AAUW Bookfair.
